Best Paladin Build in Azeroth Survivors

Every number below is estimated from the data tables.

How it plays

Paladin clear is a circle under your own feet. Consecration deals 7 damage per tick across an 8 second duration in radius 7, cooldown 9, 8 targets, clear score 52.3. That one ground spell is 52.3 of the 118.3 six. Holy Wrath is the nova around you, 14 damage, radius 11, cooldown 5, 8 targets, clear score 23.5. You are not shooting down a lane. You are the center of the radius.

Judgement hits two times for 26 at range 14, cooldown 4, clear score 13.7. Hammer of Wrath is the starter, 16 damage, range 24, cooldown 1.5, clear score 11.2. Holy Shock is 24 damage at range 20 on a 2.5 second cooldown, clear score 10.1. Exorcism is 36 damage at range 22, cooldown 5, clear score 7.6. The farther, slower hits are the bottom of the six. The circle is the top.

Hammer of Justice stuns for 3 seconds, two hits of 8, range 12, cooldown 6, clear score 2.8. Divine Shield makes you immune for 4 seconds, cooldown 28, and scores 0.0. The shield is the best "do not die" button on a 160 health body, and it adds nothing to clear. You already tie Warrior for the most health. The shield is insurance, not score.

Early and late

Hammer of Wrath is the starting skill. Range 24, clear score 11.2, and it stays in the six as the fourth pick. Consecration has no learned level in the data. Health is 160 and speed is 7. The ground spell is the 52.3 and the starter is the 11.2. Both sit in the final six, and nothing in the list says which one is learned first.

Blessing of Freedom is the level 5 F skill. It multiplies speed by 1.6 for 5 seconds, a 60 percent speed boost, cooldown 15. Consecration stays on the patch where you placed it for 8 seconds, then the cooldown is 9. Walking off radius 7 means the 52.3 stops hitting. Holy Wrath still covers radius 11 from your body, because a nova is not a patch of floor. There is no charge and no blink.

The two circles and the four ranged hits are different jobs. Consecration and Holy Wrath score 52.3 and 23.5, together 75.8, at radius 7 and radius 11. Judgement stops at 14 yards for 13.7. Hammer of Wrath reaches 24 for 11.2, Holy Shock reaches 20 for 10.1, and Exorcism reaches 22 for 7.6. None of those four has a radius. Consecration is missing for 1 second if you recast when the 9 second cooldown ends. Holy Wrath returns every 5 seconds with no duration. Blessing of Freedom returns every 15 and lasts 5, a 10 second gap walked at speed 7.

Tradeoffs

Warrior has the same 160 health and speed 7 and clears 213.2. Warrior goes to the pack with Charge. Paladin asks the pack to enter Consecration. If enemies path around the circle, Paladin is standing on 52.3 points of empty floor while Warrior is already in Sweeping Strikes range.

Priest Holy Nova covers radius 9 and scores 28.9 inside a 99.9 total. Holy Wrath covers radius 11 and scores 23.5, so the Paladin circle is wider and the Priest nova still clears more. Consecration at 52.3 is the gap under that nova, not the nova width. Priest can fear. Paladin stun is Hammer of Justice at 2.8, outside the six, for 3 seconds at range 12.

Recommended Paladin build

Consecration, Holy Wrath, Judgement, Hammer of Wrath, Holy Shock, and Exorcism score 118.3 together, and tier power only reaches 120.3. Hammer of Justice and Divine Shield are the two you leave out when you are chasing clear score. Put the shield on your bar for the 4 second immune. Do not pretend it replaced Exorcism in the math.

Passives

Arcane Intellect at level 5 changes a Paladin six by +78.9. Blessing of Might is next at +59.1, and Blessing of Kings reaches +28.2 because Judgement and the hammers are direct hits. Crit shows up more than it does on a dot class. Area still misses the mover list, Consecration included.

Mistakes

Skipping Consecration to keep a full set of ranged hammers. The hammers together are less than the 52.3 from the circle.

Counting Divine Shield as part of the build score. Immune for 4 seconds on a 28 second cooldown scores 0.0. It saves the 160 health. It does not clear.

Blessing of Freedom

Blessing of Freedom is speed times 1.6 for 5 seconds, cooldown 15, learned at level 5. Use it to walk back into a Consecration you drifted from. It is not a gap closer. Blessing of Freedom, a 60 percent speed boost for 5 seconds, will not copy Warrior Charge.

FAQ

Is Consecration really half of Paladin?

No. It scores 52.3 out of the six-skill 118.3, which is the lead and not a half. The 7 damage is one tick, repeated across an 8 second duration, radius 7, cooldown 9, 8 targets. Holy Wrath is next at 23.5.

Should Divine Shield be in the six?

Not for clear score. The immune lasts 4 seconds and the cooldown is 28. The score is 0.0. Keep it for survival on a class that already has 160 health.

Where does Hammer of Justice fit?

It stuns for 3 seconds at range 12 and scores 2.8. The six ends at Exorcism, 7.6. The stun is a control swap, not a damage upgrade.

How does Freedom interact with Consecration?

Blessing of Freedom is 1.6 times speed for 5 seconds on a 15 second cooldown. Consecration stays on the patch where you placed it, and it only scores while enemies stand inside radius 7. Walk back into it if you drift off. Blessing of Freedom does not move that patch, and it does not deal damage.
