What changes from zone to zone
Creature lists change. A zone carries 13 to 30 creatures at levels 1 to 63.
Boss levels change. Boss levels run from 6 in the opening zones to 63 in the late ones.
The boss numbers stay the same. The six bosses carry the same health, damage, and experience in every zone. The first has 700 health and 20 damage at 2:15, and the last has 20,000 health and 90 damage at 13:30.
Creature numbers follow the list. A creature's health, damage, and experience follow its place in the zone's list rather than its level. The first creature in every zone is the lightest, and each later one steps up. Those numbers come from The Barrens, the only zone that keeps numbers of its own. Levels, speeds, and sizes come from the zone's own list.
How the zones compare
Longest and shortest lists. The Barrens carries the longest creature list at 30 creatures, and Dun Morogh and The Dark Portal share the shortest at 13.
Where the levels sit. Creature levels open at 1 in Elwynn Forest and Teldrassil and close at 63 in Gates of Ahn'Qiraj. Eight zones open at level 11 or below, and the other eight open at level 15 or above.
Boss levels. Boss levels run from 6 in Teldrassil to 63 in Gurubashi Arena, The Dark Portal, Mount Hyjal, Naxxramas, and Gates of Ahn'Qiraj.
Great beasts. The Barrens keeps the most great beasts at 7, and Teldrassil, Mulgore, Durotar, Tirisfal Glades, Redridge Mountains, and Duskwood have none. The great beasts are the biggest creatures on each list.
