Azeroth Survivors Damage Meter (DPS): How to Open It

Azeroth Survivors is a WoW 1.12 client that draws a damage meter itself, so reading a run's damage per second takes no addon. One button opens it, one switch brings it back, and 4 views answer different questions about the run.

How to open it

  1. 1
Press the button the game draws on the minimap. Its tooltip reads Damage Meter, and each press shows or hides the window.
  2. 2
The bar above the spell names says which view is open and prints the run's damage per second beside it. The caret in that bar lists the 4 views.
The minimap with the damage meter button under it, and the tooltip that names the button.

What each view answers

Damage Done
The damage you dealt in this run.
Healing Done
The healing you did in this run.
Boss Damage
The damage the bosses took in this run.
Party DPS
The damage per second of the whole group, not only yours.
The Damage Done view, listing 2 spells with their damage and their share of the run.

When a view is empty

A view prints the line the game gives it before the run has anything to put in the window. The line names what is missing, and it is not a fault in the meter.

No damage yet.
The Damage Done view prints it before the run has dealt any damage.
No healing yet.
The Healing Done view prints it before the run has healed anyone.
No boss fought yet.
The Boss Damage view prints it while the run has met no boss yet, and the other views keep counting.
Only in a party.
The Party DPS view prints it in a run on your own, because that view reads the group.

Turning the button back on

The Options screen has a Show Damage Meter switch. It draws the button and its window together. Turn it off and neither is on the screen. Turn it on and both come back.

A second option, Damage Meter on Top, keeps the meter over the level-up and jewelry cards, so you can read your damage while you pick.

The 2 meter switches in the Options screen, both ticked.

An addon reads the same numbers this meter does, and AZS Spell Meter turns them into one window per spell, with the kills and the procs the meter itself does not count. Addons and launchers

The tier list uses the same measure for another question. Its clear score is damage per second worked out from the game's spell numbers, not from a run. Open the build calculator

Questions

Does Azeroth Survivors have a damage meter or a DPS meter?

Yes. The Damage Meter opens from a button on the minimap and shows Damage Done, Healing Done, Boss Damage and Party DPS.

How do I open the damage meter?

Press the button on the minimap: its tooltip reads Damage Meter, and that press shows or hides it. No addon is needed for it.

Does the meter work in a co-op run?

Yes. Party DPS is the damage per second of the whole group rather than only yours, and the other views answer for your own run.
