Best Rogue Build in Azeroth Survivors

Every number below is estimated from the data tables.

How it plays

Rogue clear happens at arm length. Blade Flurry is 11 damage, radius 6, cooldown 3 seconds, about 7.07 targets, clear score 27.2. That is the lead, and it assumes the pack is already in the radius. Rupture has no direct damage, 5 damage over time, three applications over 6 seconds, range 10, cooldown 3.5, clear score 25.7. The dot reaches a little farther than the swings. Sinister Strike is the starter and the third skill, 15 damage, range 5.5, cooldown 0.85 seconds, clear score 18.5. You press it constantly once you are touching someone.

Eviscerate is the heavy melee, 42 damage, same 5.5 yard reach, cooldown 2.8, clear score 15.8. Gouge stuns for 2 seconds, two hits of 8, range 6, cooldown 4, clear score 4.2. Kidney Shot stuns for 3.5 seconds, 12 damage, range 6, cooldown 6, clear score 2.1. Both stuns are in the six. There is no high-score control skill waiting outside. The control is the bottom of the list, and the list is short. Six skills on the class, and the six is all of them.

Rogue walks in with 135 health at speed 7, the same reach as Warrior swings and none of the Warrior body or Sweeping Strikes. Everything the class can do adds up to 93.5.

Early and late

Sinister Strike is the starting skill and it stays third at 18.5. Blade Flurry and Rupture carry scores and no learned level. Blade Flurry scores 27.2 at radius 6. Rupture scores 25.7 at range 10. The class has exactly 6 skills. Nothing on the list is wider than radius 6, and nothing reaches farther than range 10. Radius 6 is as wide as the damaging list gets.

Sprint is learned at level 5. Speed times 1.8 for 4 seconds, the same multiplier as Druid Dash, cooldown 15. After those 4 seconds, speed is 7 again. Gouge stuns for 2 seconds at range 6. Kidney Shot stuns for 3.5 seconds at the same range 6. The stuns do not add yards.

Cooldown spacing is the whole plan, because the bench is empty. Sinister Strike returns in 0.85 seconds at range 5.5. Eviscerate returns in 2.8 at the same reach. Rupture returns in 3.5 and keeps a 6 second dot, so the dot outlasts the button. Gouge returns in 4 with a 2 second stun. Kidney Shot returns in 6 with a 3.5 second stun. Blade Flurry returns in 3 at radius 6. Sprint returns in 15. Every damage button is ready again before Sprint is.

Tradeoffs

Warrior shares the 5.5 yard melee on Cleave and Heroic Strike and then clears 213.2 with 160 health and a 25 yard Charge on an 8 second cooldown. Rogue Sprint is 4 seconds of 1.8 speed every 15 seconds. Warrior can start the fight from across the screen. Rogue has to already be close, or spend Sprint to become close, and then the Rogue six is still less than half the Warrior six.

Priest, the other C class, clears 99.9 from range 18 to 22 and can fear. Kidney Shot stuns for 3.5 seconds, the same duration as Psychic Scream fear, and the stun still needs range 6 while the fear covers radius 8. If the pack never enters that range, Rogue score is zero for the whole wave. Priest can at least cast Shadow Word: Pain while walking.

Recommended Rogue build

There is no bench. Blade Flurry, Rupture, Sinister Strike, Eviscerate, Gouge, and Kidney Shot are every Rogue skill, and they total 93.5. Tier power stops at 100. Reordering will not discover a hidden seventh skill. The only choice is whether you value the stun seconds more than the clear order suggests, and the clear order already includes them at the bottom.

Passives

On Rogue, Arcane Intellect at level 5 is a +62.3 change and Blessing of Might is +46.8. Blessing of Kings manages +16.1. Amplify Magic scrapes +3.6 off Blade Flurry, barely worth a level next to might. Take haste first. Sinister Strike already returns in 0.85 seconds, and haste is what pushes a cooldown that short.

Mistakes

Playing Rogue at Priest range. Sinister Strike and Eviscerate stop at 5.5 yards. Rupture reaches 10. Blade Flurry is radius 6. Nothing on the class reaches a caster bolt.

Dropping Kidney Shot to "focus damage" when there is nothing else to pick up. It is already the sixth of six. Removing it removes 2.1 and a 3.5 second stun, and no other skill exists to take the slot.

Sprint

Sprint is 1.8 times speed for 4 seconds, cooldown 15, learned at level 5. Use it to reach Blade Flurry, not to flee a fight you are winning inside radius 6. Once the 4 seconds end, speed is 7 again and the stuns only work at range 6.

FAQ

Can Rogue clear without standing in melee?

No. The longest damaging reach is Rupture at 10 yards. Blade Flurry is radius 6. Sinister Strike and Eviscerate are 5.5. If you are at bow range you are dealing nothing.

Are the Rogue stuns worth their low scores?

Gouge scores 4.2 for a 2 second stun. Kidney Shot scores 2.1 for a 3.5 second stun. They are in the six because the class only has 6 skills. The points are small. The lock-down is the reason they are not filler you can replace.

How does Rogue compare with Warrior up close?

Warrior six-skill clear score is 213.2 with 160 health. Rogue is 93.5 with 135 health. Both swing at 5.5 yards. Warrior Charge covers 25 yards every 8 seconds. Rogue Sprint is 4 seconds of extra speed every 15.

Which passive is wasted on Rogue?

Amplify Magic at level 5 adds only +3.6. Arcane Intellect adds +62.3 and Blessing of Might adds +46.8. Spend levels on haste and might. Area barely notices Blade Flurry.
