Games like Azeroth Survivors
Every game on this list is a survivor-like: the crowd comes to you, the run grows, and every choice changes what comes next. They are ordered by how close they play to Azeroth Survivors.
- Survivor.io Battle
One hero, an open field, and a crowd that arrives from every direction while the hero attacks on his own. Art is cartoon-bright rather than grim, and 4 arrow keys are all a run asks for.
- Mech Core: Survivor
A mech walks into a dark arena and the arena sends everything it has. Nanites drop from what the mech kills, and enough of them unlock a weapon upgrade: rockets, lasers, the rest of the list. Auto-fire is on from the first second, so the run is about where the mech stands.
- WOMS — World of Master Survivors
A city has fallen and one soldier holds a street corner while the waves keep coming. Kills pay for what survives the next wave: heavier ammunition, cover drones, turrets and a gunship call. It has 2 grounds, City Siege and Fortified Compound, and the second doubles the horde.
- Sword Survivor
A sword spirit holds a pass against endless demons while the blade swings on its own. 5 minutes, 3 bosses, and a level-up choice that turns one sword into a storm of them.
- Lanternborne
Ilan is the last lamplighter and he has no powers: he walks, and his weapons aim and fire on their own. 10 cursed lands and a hundred levels, and a street lamp to relight behind you so the dark cannot follow.
- Candlebound Coven
A five-minute survivor-like set in a cat’s dream, where Sister Mina carries one candle and never presses attack because the rites cast themselves. Each level asks which of 3 to take, and a boss wakes every 45 seconds.
- OrbiHex Survivor
A ship in a shifting geometric arena, with weapons that fire on their own and experience that arrives the moment an enemy dies. 6 weapons evolve, 3 acts end on a boss, and 2 endless modes open after them.
- Zombie Swarm
A top-down horde shooter that fires for you and still asks you to aim. The waves pay for crafting and skills, and a second player can join the run.
- Swarm Lord: Army vs Horde
You command a retinue: soldiers, archers, bombers and healers hold the line, fallen fighters get back up when you reach them, and one Charge! sends the whole army forward.
What makes a game a survivors-like
3 things make the genre: a crowd that arrives on its own, a run that grows, and a choice that changes what comes next. The choice can be a card on a level-up, a shop between waves or a soldier added to a line.
A game earns its place by playing the same way, not by being free in a browser. That is why the list is short.
Which one to start with
Survivor.io Battle, Mech Core and WOMS play the same way as Azeroth Survivors: one fighter, a horde that arrives on its own, and 4 arrow keys or a mouse. Sword Survivor plays that way for 5 minutes, Lanternborne is the dark one, Candlebound Coven is the cosy one, and OrbiHex Survivor is the one in space. Zombie Swarm adds a second player. Swarm Lord is the one with an army: you command rather than grow a hero.
