How to play Azeroth Survivors
Azeroth Survivors is a run against a clock. You pick a class and a zone, spells cast themselves at whatever is near you, and your job is to stay alive and keep moving while the horde grows around you.
- 15:00 run clock
- 6 bosses
- 9 classes
- 16 zones
Where to play it
Azeroth Survivors runs in the browser at wow.aethus.pl. There is nothing to install and no account to make. The page is the game.
It needs WebGPU, which a current Chrome, Edge or Safari has.
What a run is
One run is one zone, one class, and one clock. The horde around you grows the whole way, and every enemy in it gets tougher as the clock runs, so the end of a run is harder than the start.
| What | Figure | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 15:00 | Survive to 15:00 and the run is won; lose all your health before that and it is over. |
| Bosses | Six, every 2:15 | The first arrives at 2:15 and the last at 13:30. Each one is far tougher than the enemies around it. |
| Enemies | 14 to 220 | The game keeps this many enemies alive around you, from the first second to the last. |
| Their health | ×1 to ×1.75 | The same enemy carries this much more health when it spawns late in the run. |
| Their damage | ×1 to ×1.9 | Their hits scale by the same amount, so a late run hurts more as well as lasting longer. |
| Experience | 5 for level 2 | Each pickup multiplies the enemy's own experience by 2, and every level costs more than the one before it. |
| Pick screen | Choose a class and a zone. |
| Run | The clock is at the top and the horde is closing in. |
| Level-up | The cards are up and the run is paused, so nothing chases you while you decide. |
| Paused | The run is stopped until you resume it. |
| Results | What the run came to, with the next run one key away. |
The controls
Every spell you hold casts itself, on its own cooldown, at whatever is in range. There is no attack button and nothing to target.
That leaves movement as the decision. Where you stand decides which enemies a spell reaches and how many hits land on you, so the run is spent between the horde and the open ground.
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| W A S D | Move. The arrow keys do the same. |
| Mouse | Aims. The hero faces the cursor, and aimed spells such as Blink or Charge go that way. |
| F | Your class's own spell, learned at level 5. It is the only thing you cast by hand, and it is the one that gets you out of a pack. |
| 1 2 3 | Take the card in that position on the level-up screen. Clicking a card does the same. |
| Space | Jump. |
| C | Unlock the camera to swing and tilt it. Press it again to lock back to the top-down view. |
| Esc | Pause, and press it again to resume. |
| Enter | Start the run from the pick screen, and return there from the results screen. |
The level-up cards
A level-up deals three cards, drawn without repeats from everything you can still take, and the four kinds of card are not equally likely.
| Card | Odds | Stops at |
|---|---|---|
| Another rank for a spell you hold | 1.2× | Rank 8 |
| A spell you do not hold yet | 1× | Six spells |
| Another rank for a passive you hold | 0.8× | Rank 5 |
| A passive you do not hold yet | 0.5× | Six passives |
A rank for something you already hold is the likeliest card of all.
- New spells stop coming once you hold six, a spell stops at rank 8, and a passive stops at rank 5.
- A rank at 3, 5, 7 gives another target to these spells: Bolt, Strike, Melee, Damage over time, Chained hits, and Orbs circling you.
- There are no rerolls. The three cards you are shown are the three you choose between.
- If there is nothing left to take, the level-up deals one card instead, which heals you to full health.
- Every level you earn queues its own level-up, so a fight that earns you three levels deals three level-ups, one at a time.
What the card colors mean
A card's color says how good it is, and the game grades each card by what it brings rather than by chance. A new spell is measured against the other spells of its class, and a rank is graded by how close it is to the cap.
- CommonA passive's rank 2, or the full heal you get when there is nothing left to take.
- UncommonA plain spell rank, any new passive, or a new spell below 33 percent of its class.
- RareA new spell between 33 percent and 66 percent of its class, or a passive rank one below rank 5.
- EpicA spell rank that adds a target, a new spell above 66 percent of its class, or a passive's last rank.
- LegendaryA spell rank that reaches rank 8, the cap.
Your first run
The ranking answers which class is strongest, not which one to start on. These two picks come from the same numbers the ranking uses.
Paladin Paladin carries the highest survivability at 200, against a class range of 120 to 200, and sits in the Easy difficulty band at 11 points. Its clear score is 118.3, rank 6 of 9, which is the trade: a first clear leans on the survivability line, not on the clear score.
Elwynn Forest Elwynn Forest holds the lightest enemies in the game, level 1 to 10, so it is the zone to learn the game in.
When the game does not start
A screen that stays black means the browser has no WebGPU. The game's own message names the fix: use a current Chrome, Edge or Safari, or turn on chrome://flags/#enable-unsafe-webgpu in Chrome on Linux.
If the game never starts at all, its daily request limit may be full. The page then says "Too many people are playing!!!" and links the project's Discord and a Windows download, and both keep working while the limit is full.
Which build this describes
Every mechanic above is read from the build this site ranks, not from the game itself.
The game at wow.aethus.pl is the original build and has systems the other does not: talents and boss gear, each with its own pages here. Its browser requirement and its message about the player limit come from the game's own page, read on 2026-10-18.
