Mech Core: Survivor
A top-down roguelite in a dark arena. One mech, endless alien swarms, and guns that fire on their own, so a run is about where the mech stands.
The first press downloads the game engine, so a cold start shows a loading bar before the arena appears. That took about 20 seconds here; a second visit is shorter.
Before the first wave
Before the mech drops, spend your gold in the upgrade store: Max HP (+20), Speed (+5%) and Magnet (+20%), 100 gold each at level 0. PLAY starts the run, and the gold spent there is the first decision of the run rather than a menu you can come back to mid-fight.
The store stays one button away after the drop, so a run that is going badly can be looked at, but not changed from.
Nanites buy the guns
On the field, defeated enemies leave nanites. Enough of them and the mech levels up and unlocks a weapon upgrade, rockets and lasers among them, while the guns keep firing as you collect. The upgrade is the level-up, so the run’s growth is a list of weapons rather than a list of numbers.
Boss fights close the deeper stretches, so the weapons the nanites unlock are there to answer something larger than the swarm. A run that spends its upgrades on the crowd alone meets the boss with the wrong list.
Auto-fire is on by default, so the left button is optional. The mouse still aims, which is what makes the position of the mech matter more than the timing of a click.
Auto-fire, so position is the skill
The arena is a dark metal floor with swarms that arrive from the sides. With the guns firing themselves, the 2 things worth practising are a route that keeps the mech out of a corner and the habit of walking into the loot instead of away from it.
Magnet is the upgrade that pays for that habit: it pulls the nanites toward the mech, so a run that buys it early spends less time walking backwards for the drops that make the next weapon, and more time where the swarm is thin.
A cold start has a bar
The first press downloads the engine, so a cold start shows a loading bar before the arena appears. That took about 20 seconds here; a second visit is shorter because the browser has the engine already.
How it sits beside Azeroth Survivors
The shape is the same: one fighter, a crowd, and a build that grows inside the run. Azeroth Survivors grows spells; Mech Core grows weapons on a mech, and the arena is a dark metal floor rather than a field, so the 2 look nothing alike while playing the same way.
It is the darkest version here of the auto-attacking half of Azeroth Survivors, and the furthest thing from the mouse-aimed half.
What a first session looks like
Buy Max HP first. A mech that survives one more hit sees more nanites than a mech that kills faster and dies sooner. Then Speed, because the arena has no cover and the swarm does not get slower.
Do not chase every nanite. The ones off the route are worth less than the corner they pull you into, which is why Magnet is a better purchase than a longer walk.

Questions
Is Mech Core: Survivor free?
Yes. It plays on this page with no account and no purchase.
Why is there a loading bar?
The game downloads its engine the first time you press play, so the bar fills as that download lands. The next visit starts faster.
Do I have to aim?
No. Auto-fire is on by default and the guns fire on their own; the mouse aims them, and the left button adds a shot when you want one.
What should I buy first?
Max HP, then Speed. The arena has no cover, so surviving one more hit is worth more than killing one enemy sooner.
What are nanites for?
They are the experience of the run. Enough of them and the mech levels up and unlocks a weapon upgrade, so collecting them is how the build grows.
How do I leave fullscreen?
Press Esc. The game fills the screen and returns to this page when you leave it.
